If you are in the
UK we recommend trying Paving Quoter below to get a driveway price or patio quote. They don't have a different
option for a fence estimate but if you are having any surfacing work done, many companies will do fencing at the
same time. Click below to get a patio or driveway paving cost
estimate.
The average
sized driveway is 50-60sq.M, Tarmac or asphalt is usually the
cheapest option closely followed by standard pressed paving. Standard brindle block paving is likely to be £10-15
extra per sq.M and cobble style concrete block paving like Tegula a further £10 extra again. Imprinted concrete
driveways seem to vary in price more but a general rule is to pay a similar price to Tegula for a driveway cost
estimate.
Patios are
smaller so tarmac is usually not worth considering or imprinted
concrete, but they are not suited to patios anyway. Standard pressed paving is the cheapest option alongside
utility paving such as Pendle 600mm x 600mm flags. Expect to pay around £20 extra per sq.M. for block paving,
ornamental concrete paving or Indian Stone paving for your patio. Extra features like a circle kit are worth
considering to make your patio more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Fences vary more because of the extra work
often involved in removing an existing fence, wall or hedge. The most common styles of fencing in the UK is heavy
duty wane lap on concrete posts and bases (or wood posts for similar price). A fence quote using vertical board
(feather board) panels will add around £10 per panel. Designer panels can shoot up in price very quickly and easily
double costs, but they are worth considering for small jobs like along a new patio.
