Roof cleaning and coating renovation 

Very few people ever consider getting their roof cleaned, but it is certainly worth considering. Moss forms in rainy areas which can wash off and clog gutters. Also over time a roof will fade and get dirty which isn't attractive. There are rood renovation firms which pressure clean the rood first with specialist power washing machines which blast dirt and moss away with a high pressure water spray. Next a herbicidal treatment is spread over the roof to protect from future moss growth. Finally a sealant is applied which protects the roof tiles from dirt and makes the color look like new again.

Different colors are available, most people go for a natural color which brings out the original shade of the tiles (usually brown or slate color). You can request any color of your choice though if you would prefer something different. The color will last for many years because of the quality of the coating. Rood cleaning is becoming big business and the results are always excellent. It can really transform a property when the roof looks like new. Most roof cleaning companies will be able to replace any broken tiles and re do any pointing work which has cracked over the years.

BEWARE

Many people that go for roof cleaning and coating are victims of door to door salesmen. These salesmen can be very convincing about the (often exaggerated) benefits of roof coating. They often over charge people too. I have recently heard of someone paying six thousand pounds (almost $10,000) to have their roof renovated when the real price should have been a fraction of the cost. Therefore you should never sign up to anything on the spot. Let a salesman give you a quote by all means, but as with all home exterior improvements it is wise to get a few quotes before committing.
